I agree Walt Williams and Keith Booth were huge for Maryland. I gave the nod to the National Title winners though, that year was just magical. You cant discredit what Williams and Booth did though, they got Maryland back on the map after the sanctions. Those teams set up the Terps for the early 00's where they were reached their peak. I'm hoping they can get things turned back around with this upcoming draft class. The thoughs of Eric Hayes running the offense really excites me, they say he's the next Steve Blake. I've not give up on them getting Braxton Dupree either.

Cant put Francis on the team he only played one year. Overall Lucas was Maryland's best athlete ever, he was uneral in Tenis also. Sad that the teams Lucas played on never really got a chance in the NCAA due to only one team from each conference making it.

Yeah Alford hit 7 trays against Syracuse. I think McNamara might have hit more against Kansas but I might be wrong.

Alford was twice the shooter Reddick was though, he sent Jordan and company packing in the Omni back in 85 I believe.

The best shooters Ive seen in my lifetime in college ball(and bird wasnt really in my lifetime) would be Alford/Kerr in the 80s, Ray Allen in the 90s, and Salim Stoudamire this decade.

I didnt know how long he played at Maryland. As a pro though he is a shoot first pass second point guard, I hate that.

Buck Williams was awesome, I think he ended up with over 15000 points in the nba, I remember him as a kid with the nets when they were awful, then he retired with the blazers. I think he was on the team with Duckworth, Drexler, Kearse, and Porter that lost to the pistons and the bulls.

Francis last game at Maryland was a blowout loss to UCLA in the tournament. I remember missing that game due to a death in the family. Did you know that Maryland was going to get Moses Malone? Maryland has alot of Basketball history and tradition along with great players and have only one National Title. ACC fans argue with me on this but to me it was pointless for a team not from the Carolina's to even compete until the NCAA field expanded, only one team from the conference made it and the ACC Tournament was played in the Carolina's every year. The tournament was even played on Nc. St.'s home floor for years.

I never knew that about Malone. I know how the ACC powers are when it comes to things though. The 4 carolina schools have all the power in the acc, who do you think made it so hard for the conference to expand to 12.

Question, who is VT's all time greatest player? Ace Custis

Its pathetic when Virgina Union(Oakley) and Longwood(Kersey) have had better players than tech.
